Hip Flexor Strain Symptoms

The undue activities and movements by the body causes hip flexor muscle strain. Intensity levels of hip flexor strain symptoms help the physician diagnose the condition with grades associated so the person can take treatment measures according to the requirement. Kicking a football, jumping over 50 inches high hurdles or running for a 200 meter sprint, it all requires a lot of muscle activity and especially hip flexor muscle activity. Movement of leg (thigh) in upward position towards the abdomen is the responsibility of the hip flexors muscle. But if a person exerts too much pressure or makes a movement with a lot of pressure on it then it can cause the muscle to tear from mild level (small tear where pain is less) to the more severe levels (muscle rapture followed by severe pain episodes).

Depending on the hip flexor strain symptoms, the condition is classified into different grades i.e. Grade 1 Tear, Grade 2 Tear and Grade 3 Tear. The description of these grades is given below:

Grade 1 Tear: The person who suffers with Grade 1 tear can perform daily life functions completely because a very less number of muscle fibres are torn, person suffers with very low pain. It is not noticeable sometimes because the muscles only cause pain sensation when a person is doing some activity. Hence, grade 1 tear does not cause any hindrance in daily life functioning.

Grade 2 Tear: Hip flexor strain symptoms for grade 2 indicates that a person suffers from functioning loss at moderate level due to a substantial torn fibers. This grade torn requires professional attention. During hip flexor strain, the movement activities of the sufferer reduces down because of the painful sensations. Limp in walk can be seen because a significant amount of muscle fibres are lost within the hip region.

Grade 3 Tear: In grade 3 tear, there is severe loss of the muscle fibres hence person experiences a severely high pain. The sufferer cannot move in this condition at all or can move by having a continuous support i.e. using crutches. While symptoms of hip flexor strain are this much severe that immediate medical help is required. This condition takes at least 4 months to cure. After healing from grade 3 tear, there should be some precaution which must be taken so that the person cannot regain the same condition.
