The History of Wink Bingo Games

In North America the history of Wink Bingo dates back to the year 1929. However, the true origins of the game can be back dated to as far as the sixteenth century.

The first recording of a game of Wink Bingo being played in Italy was in the year 1530. The Italians referred to the game as 'lo giuoco del lotto D'Italia'. The games popularity was simply amazing. This can be established by the simple fact that it's still being played to date in the Italian society each and every Saturday.

The French got presented to the game in1770. In these particular years the game was mainly played by the aristocrats of the society. This explains why it was only the French nobles that took part in the bingo. The game of Wink Bingo to the French was known as 'le lotto'.

It was in the year 1929 that a historical event concerning the game occurred. It was a normal day for a New York toy manufacturer. He went by the name Edwin S. Lowe. He was attending a carnival in Atlanta Georgia. While walking around the carnival he noticed a crowd inside a tent that was having an extremely good time. In a carnival people were bound to have a good time but this was over the expected kind of enthusiasm.

He definitely got curious and wanted to know what was making the people that happy. It was out of this curiosity that he made a colossal discovery. In there, he found people playing a game that had numbered card board cards and dried beans. The cards had a diagram that measured 5 inches by 5 inches and each box contained a number. There was a collar that stood at the front. He was regularly drawing numbers from a box of cigars and called them out.

When Edwin saw the excitement that the people had, he went on to try the bingo game in UK. The game went on without any hitch and it was at one of this game that a player shouted the word bingo. It was at this point that the game gained its popular name.

Lowe looked for help from his friends to develop the game even more. It was with the help of a professor by the name Carl Leffer that Lowe was able to develop this bingo sites.

Companies then offered to pay Lowe money so that they can market the game and this is how the game spread to the rest of the world.

So Wink Bingo was bright to get to the rest of the world and gain its name out of pure luck.
